Youthful Sailors Off To Saint Martin
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, November 1st, 2021 (Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center) — The St Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association has selected our two best youth sailors from the Federation to represent St Kitts and Nevis in the 16th Annual Sol Optimist Championships held in Sint Maarten by the Sint Maarten Yacht Club on October 30th & 31st, 2021.
Abhijith Srinivasan (9) and Skyla Connor (10) both from the island of Nevis are traveling alongside their coach, Nicholas Dupre.
19 sailors from 6 countries will be competing at this year’s Sol Optimist Championships. This competition is a qualifier for the 2022 Optimist World Championship.
The St Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association thanks the St Kitts and Nevis National Olympic Committee for their support of sailing and the assistance given to send athletes to these competitions.
Jamir Claxton, Department of Sports-Nevis Island Administration on behalf of the Nevis Island Administration’s Minister of Sports, Eric Evelyn met the team at the Vance Amory International Airport to wish them well and congratulate the children on being selected to represent the Federation at this competition.
