Cardin Home To Undergo Major Upgrade

BASSETERRE: Major renovations are now underway at the Cardin Home as the government moves to modernise one of the federation’s leading elder care facilities. The Ministry of Health says work officially began this morning.

The Ministry of Health announces that major renovations at the historic Cardin Home will commence on Monday, 20th July.
Established in 1927 as The Infirmary and later renamed in honor of James Derrick Cardin, the institution has long stood as a pillar of elder care and support for persons with special needs in St. Kitts and Nevis.
For nearly a century, the Cardin Home has embodied compassion and dignity, serving as a sanctuary for the elderly and vulnerable. The upcoming renovations mark a new chapter in its legacy, ensuring modern facilities and enhanced services for generations to come.
The Ministry extends gratitude to staff, residents, families, and partners whose dedication has sustained the Home’s mission. Together, we look forward to strengthening this cornerstone of community care and reaffirming our nation’s commitment to dignity, longevity, and respect for all.

Officials say the upgrades will modernise the facility, improve its infrastructure, and enhance the quality of care provided to residents.
