Young Carlon makes his mark

Master Carlon Tuckett of the Maude Crosse Preparatory School placed second in the St. Kitts Nevis Courts Reading Competition in St. Kitts on October 5, 2013

Without a shadow of a doubt, the name Carlon Tuckett is one that will be etched in the sporting memoirs of Nevis, in the not too distant future.

He is the son of the former West Indies allrounder Carl Tuckett and Sonia Tuckett and has already made a name for himself in Athletics.  Not only at the Inter Primary Schools championships but also at the last CUT games held in Jamaica.

On Sunday 18th November, the well rounded athlete made his mark in Cricket as well.

It was match two in the series  for the Pennyless All stars Cricket club, with the senior team playing against the junior team.

Young Carlon Tuckett was included in the senior side.  His huge impact on the game came when he was introduced into the attack to bowl his left arm spinners and within a short space of time, removed Leeward Islands under 19 players, Ross Powell and Saeed Williams, both spectacularly caught and bowled.

The summarized scores in the game which was eventually won by the junior team on this occasion:

ALL Stars JRS—144 for 6 from 20 overs: Ross Powell 37; Alex  Williams 26

Carlon Tuckett 2 wickets; Patrick Newton 1

All Stars SNRS—95 for 4 in 13.3 overs when bad light halted play: Tonito Willet 53

J. Warden 3 wickets; Philo Wallace 1
