Suspected swine flu death in Trinidad

(Trinidad Express) The wife of a former local government councillor died on Thursday from a suspected case of the H1N1 flu virus (swine flu).

Julia Callendar, 33, was taken to the Point Fortin Area Hospital early Thursday and died around 4 am.

Callendar was the wife of Sean Bharat, who served as the People’s National Movement local government representative for Point Fortin/Cap-de-Ville from 2003 to 2010.

Bharat’s brother, Peter Bharat, said Callendar died after being afflicted with the virus for approximately two weeks.
