Sri Lankan delegation to pay courtesy call on PM Douglas

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 4TH 2011 (CUOPM) – A high-powered delegation from Sri Lanka that will be in Basseterre for Commonwealth Games Federation General Assembly will pay a courtesy call on St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

The Sri Lankan delegation will be led by that country’s Minister of Sports, Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage.

Other members of the delegation are Hon. Namal Rajapaksa, Member of Parliament; Mr Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Dr. Ranee Jayamaha, Advisor to His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka.

Over 300 delegates from the nations of the Commonwealth will select the venue for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The two countries bid to host the games are Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

The announcement will be made at 6 p.m. local time on November 11th 2011.
