SKN strengthens Nigerian connection

(ZIZ News) — St. Kitts-Nevis will be strengthening its ties with Nigeria later this year with two initiatives.

During a press conference on Monday, the Federation’s Honorary Consul to Nigeria Tessi Ekpunobi told the media that in about two months there will be a direct flight from St. Kitts to Nigeria.

“In November, 2014, I signed an MOU with a private airline which will be flying directly from Abuja, Nigeria to St. Kitts and Nevis. This will not only be a gateway to St. Kitts and Nevis but to the CARICOM community, and Africa as a whole,” she said.

She said Nigerian performers will also be arriving in St. Kitts to take part in two major calendar events.

“St. Kitts and Nevis people like Nigerian music, as well as the Nollywood film industry so I have attracted the artists. They will be flying on the inaugural flight in June to present at the Music Festival and some of them will also come in September for Independence,” she said.

The direct flights to Nigeria will arrive once a week and a full flight of 148 persons is already booked for the inaugural visit in June.
