SKN Fared Well During Tropical Storm

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 23, 2020 (ZIZ News):National Disaster Coordinator, Abdias Samuel says St. Kitts fared well during the passage of Tropical Storm Laura on Saturday.

On Sunday Mr Samuel told ZIZ that there were no reports of damage to homes, no injuries and no deaths.

He said there were reports flooding in parts of the Old Road Bay Road, the loss of electricity in several areas and of downed trees in Cayon and in several communities in Nevis, which have since been cleared.

Tropical Storm Laura passed closest to the federation between Friday night and early Saturday morning with wind speeds of about 45 miles per hour.
