Proper identification needed during lockdown says Superintendent Cromwell Henry

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 1, 2020 (ZIZ News): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is reminding those persons permitted to leave their residences during the nation’s revised State of Emergency to present proper identification when approached by the police.

This message was made clear by Superintendent Cromwell Henry as members of the COVID-19 Task Force gathered at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Conference room for a national briefing held by the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) on Tuesday.

The Emergency Powers (COVID-19) (No.2) Regulations, No. 9 of 2020 permits only the Security Forces and other Security Personnel, Health Care Officers, Technical Emergency Officers of Utilities including Telecoms, and Media Personnel to leave their residences.

Supt. Henry said it is important to have proper I.D’s to avoid being arrested by police.

The Superintendent was also joined by representatives from various Government Ministries, the Chair of the National COVID-19 Task Force, Abdias Samuel, The Director of Agriculture, Melvin James and officials from Ministry of Health at the briefing.
