Plane Crash Investigation Continues In The Bahamas

Police in the Bahamas say investigations are continuing into last Friday’s plane crash that claimed the lives of the ten people on board.

Authorities said a twenty-four-year-old passenger who survived the initial impact later died from extensive burns, bringing the death toll to ten.

Police said the remains of nine of the victims have been transferred to San Andros for safekeeping pending further examination and formal identification.

Those killed included five members of a band, a DJ, two residents of Andros, and the pilot of the aircraft.

The aircraft accident investigation authority said the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Investigators are examining the aircraft, its maintenance records, flight operations, weather conditions, and other evidence.

The Bahamas Civil Aviation Authority has also temporarily suspended Flamingo Air’s operating certificate pending the outcome of the investigation.
