Minister accuses Bahamas pastors of demonizing LGBT community
Bahamas Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell on Tuesday accused the Save Our Bahamas campaign led by local pastors of “demonizing, and dehumanizing” the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community to “frighten” Bahamians to vote against the June 7 referendum.
Mitchell said words of hate can lead to “destructive behaviour among the mentally ill and ignorant” and characterized the campaign as an unprecedented “campaign of deceit and misinformation”.
