Improving officers’ customer service

(ZIZ)– Commissioner of Police Celvin Walwyn says there are plans in place to host training sessions for officers in customer service.

Speaking at the end of the Island Constable Training Course on Friday Commissioner Walwyn said customer service is an important component of being a police officer.

“One of the first people you encounter as a tourist is the police and your impression of the police might be negative based on your encounter with a tourist security officer so we want to make sure what their role is.  It’s customer service.  It’s law enforcement but it’s customer service first,” he said.

He says officers must be courteous but they must also be professional and do their job at all times.
