Icons Park officially opened

– The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC)/Jenkins Limited Leadership Course Cohort Seven restructured the empty lot of land as part of an initiative which forms part of an annual requirement for the students to put their theoretical lessons into practice and design.

The park can be found near the section of land located at the base of Adam Hills, at Infirmary and Horsford’s roads directly opposite the Naomi’s Side Pocket Snackette also referred to as “Five-Ways”.

Speaking on behalf of the CFBC administration, faculty and staff, Dean of Adult and Continuing Education, Wanda Hughes congratulated

Hughes said the Cohort 7 members should be saluted and praised for tackling and executing a community requirement and the requirement that honours icons of the federation.

Director of the Cohort, Peter Jenkins said the project would not have been possible without the assistance of the CFBC lecturers.

He then thanked the more than 30 sponsors who provided tools and equipment need to bring the idea of the park to fruition.

At the end of the ceremony, guests were given the opportunity to tour the newly opened park.

The group was able to enhance the landscaping with the addition of ornamental plants, a newly painted fence, stepping stones for a walkway and 6 benches.

A ramp will also be added as an entrance to the park to assure disability access.
