Fun morning for caregivers of persons with dementia

Caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia gathered at the old boys school on Tuesday for a fun morning hosted by the St. Kitts and Nevis Alzheimer’s Association in collaboration with the Moravian Seniors Club.

The event which was hosted as part of the activities to commemorate World Alzheimer’s Month in September saw hose present engaging in fun activities including joke telling, singing and reciting poetry.

President of the national Alzheimer’s Association Dr. Joan Rawlins said the event was hosted because caregivers need to be recognized for the important work that they do.

She had words of encouragement for the caregivers.

This has been the 3rd hosting of the fun morning for caregivers of persons living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia in the association’s 5 year history.

World Alzheimer’s Month is being guided by the theme “Let’s Talk about Dementia: End The Stigma”.

World Alzheimer’s Day will be observed on September 21st.
