Flash Flood Warning downgraded to Watch for northern parishes

FloodWatch-1Kingston, Jamaica — The Meteorological (Met) Service has downgraded the Flash Flood Warning to a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all northern parishes, namely Portland, St Mary and St Ann effective until 5:00 pm today (December 18).

The Met Service forecast is for light to moderate and isolated heavy showers to continue affecting northern parishes into this evening with gradual improvement expected by Friday.

Sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms due to gusty wind fishers and other marine interests are urged to exercise caution.

A Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding is possible.
