Donation to St. Paul’s Health Centre

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 15, 2022 (ZIZ) — The staff at the St. Paul’s Health Centre is benefiting from a donation of new equipment from Island Purified Water.

A hand-over ceremony was held on Tuesday morning to present an autoclave machine and a bell lamp to the health centre.

An autoclave is a machine that uses steam under pressure to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores on items that are placed inside a pressure vessel.

The financial manager of Island Purified Water, Fernella Gumbs said the company is committed to giving back to the community and they were more than happy to assist the health centre.

According to a health centre representative, the autoclave Would be used to sterilize equipment and the bell lamp would be used in pap smears and other procedures.
