Computer training for disabled persons
(ZIZ) The St Kitts-Nevis Association of persons with disabilities is helping to integrate its members into society by providing them with basic computer skills.
The Australian High Commission has funded a project that will see persons living with disabilities trained on how to use computers and further their education development.
The computer courses are being held at the Mcknight Community Center.
President of the St Kitts-Nevis Association of persons with disabilities, Anthony Mills says they want with disabilities — particularly children to have the same education as able body individuals.
President of the St Kitts Society for the blind, Rockliffe Bowen says they have approached a few teachers to lead other types of lessons.
Minister of Social and Community Development, Hon Marcella Liburd says the success of this project can open numerous opportunities for disabled persons.
The start of the computer training program also coincided with the launch of the newly refurbished computer lab and office.
