Community Animators

ZIZ News…May 21, 2013 — The local office of the Caribbean HIV & AIDS Alliance (CHAA) is continuing its programme of reaching out to the communities to educate them about HIV/AIDS.

Its most recent programme involves using young people as community animators.

Terry Morris, CHAA Programme Officer says it’s up to the animators to reach specific groups such as persons living with HIV/AIDS and sex workers and make sure that they have access to services that would help them.

Morris says since the Community Animators Programme was restarted in September 2011 he has seen a change in how willing clients are to access information and get themselves tested.
