ZIZ News…July 2, 2013 — On Wednesday 3rd July 2013 at 11:00 am, The Royal St. Christopher & Nevis Police Force will be having a closing ceremony for its first Motor Cycle Training for 2013.

The facilitator is Mr. Steve Fortier, an Active Officer and Sergeant of the Motor Cycle Unit of the Orange County Sheriff Office located in Orlando, Florida. Sgt. Fortier has invested twenty-nine (29) years with Orange County Sheriff Office, ten (10) years of which was dedicated to Orange County’s Traffic Department and seven (7) years as an Instructor.

This training is in keep with Commissioner C.G Walwyn’s initiatives in enhancing the Traffic Department. This intense course was conducted within two and half days; Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 July 2013. One of the main focus of this course was Close Clone Riding Techniques, which was to educate and sharpen Officers’ skills with driving motorcycles within small confined areas. With additional new skills officers will be able to maneuver through congested areas, such as Festivals, parades or marches without injuring pedestrians or themselves.

You are therefore invited to this closing ceremony to provide media coverage, and kindly asked to have your equipment in place by 10:45 am, in order to avoid any unnecessary interruptions during the proceedings.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
