Attorney General denies rumours

VincentByron-1(ZIZ News) — New Attorney General, the Hon. Vincent Byron denied rumours that civil servants were asked to leave Government Headquarters on Thursday.

He made the statement during a report on the first day (Thursday) of government business.

He said, “There was absolutely no truth to the rumours that were circulated that members of the public service were asked to leave Government Headquarters under escort. They were welcomed to stay and eventually they were allowed to enter their offices and the smooth transition will continue.”

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris was scheduled to meet with Permanent Secretaries and department heads on Thursday morning to further the transition process.

The installation of the new Cabinet is slated for Sunday.
