Association Helps Students Adjust to Life in Taiwan

(ZIZ News) — Kittitians and Nevisians studying abroad at universities in the Republic of China, Taiwan have bonded to form the Association of St. Kitts and Nevis Nationals in Taiwan.

Vice President of the association, Addea Brunder said one of their main goals is to help new students in Taiwan adjust to life away from home.

He explained that members strive to foster a familial bond among St. Kitts and Nevis nationals living in Taiwan while creating activities and programmes geared towards outreach and development.

In an effort to make the students feel more at ease, the association has already planned trips to various locations in Taiwan and held a fun day in April. Upcoming events include a welcome party for the new students, an Independence Dinner, potluck and Christmas dinner.

The association also focuses on promoting its homeland as an excellent tourist destination.

According to Brunder, there are a lot of people in Taiwan who do not know about St. Kitts and Nevis and so by educating locals in Taiwan, they will feel motivated to visit St. Kitts.

There are currently 36 members in the association, headed by President Rolhensha Henry.
