Changes to the 39th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 14, 2022 – The Cabinet of Ministers met under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew approved changes to the week of our 39th Anniversary of Independence celebrations based on discussions with the Independence Celebrations  Planning Committee.  

The approved changes for Friday, September 16, 2022, National Heroes’ Day are as follows: 

The official ceremony will be held at 8:00 am at the R. L. Bradshaw Memorial Park, in St.  Paul’s. The 21-gun salute will be performed in honour of the passing of Her Majesty Queen  Elizabeth II.  

At 10:30 am there will be a Wreath Laying & Recognition Ceremony at the C. A. Paul  Southwell Memorial Bust. 

At 4:00 pm there will be a Special Wreath Laying Ceremony at the National Heroes Park, in  Basseterre.
