World AIDS Day 2018

In an address to the nation to mark World AIDS Day on Saturday, Minister of State with responsibility for health Hon. Wendy Phipps spoke of the purpose of the international observance.

She encouraged the public to get tested and know their status.

She gave the statistics for HIV/AIDS here in the federation, noting that is important to be aware of the numbers associated with the disease.

Minister Phipps also salute healthcare workers across the Federation who she said continuously educate the public about HIV and AIDS, the dangers of unsafe sexual practices, and the importance of accessing life-saving treatment following a positive diagnosis.

World AIDS Day 2018 was observed under the theme “Know Your Status”.
