Meeko out of the finals

ZIZ News [August 1, 2013] — Its official…King Meeko will not be taking part in the finals of the Culturama Calypso Finals on Saturday.

The Culturama Committee made the announcement this morning.

Meeko suffered from a throat problem and doctors orders prevented him from participating in the semi finals. However the public wanted him to perform in the finals. Public Relations Officer Mervin Hanley says after consultations, the Calypsonians agreed that it wouldn’t be fair to let him compete in the finals.

Hanley says Meeko will still perform on the finals as a guest artist.
