Grenadian cricketer, schoolteacher charged with rape

St George’s, Grenada (CMC) — National cricketer and primary school teacher Denroy Charles is scheduled to appear in court on August 17 to answer to charges of rape and sexual assault.

Charles, 31, who is also known as Cocoa Fly, was remanded on the weekend after being charged with the rape and sexual assault of a young woman.

The police report that Charles assaulted the young lady who was in his vehicle late Thursday.

He was formally detained for questioning on Friday and officially charged on Saturday.

Bail was denied by the magistrate after she reviewed the case and as a result he was sent to the remand section of Richmond Hill prison.
