No reports of damage or injuries from earthquake, one of several to hit the Caribbean, world on Monday

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 28TH 2011 (CUOPM) – There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries in St. Kitts and Nevis as a result of an earthquake early Monday morning.

The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CEDEMA) said the earthquake registered 4.7 on the Richter scale and was felt in several Caribbean islands.

The early morning earthquake was one on several earthquake recorded in the Caribbean and the reset of the world on Sunday.

Puerto Rico recorded several earthquakes registering 4.9; 3.5; 3.2; 3.2; 2.9; 3.1; 5.2; 3.5 and 3.4 on Monday.

There were also earthquakes registering 4.7 in Bougainville Region, Papua New Guinea; 6.4 in New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea; 4.7 in Eastern New Guinea; Papua New Guinea; off Papua New Guinea; 5.8 in the Baltic sea, 2.5 in Northern California, 2.8 offshore Northern California, Oklahoma has been hit by nine earthquakes since last Monday, most of them concentrated in the area just east of Oklahoma City, according to the National Earthquake Information Center, a division of the United States Geological Survey.
